XIAO GUAN CHA Teahouse

01-
Within a square inch, rediscover the leisurely charm of the East

“In a Compact Space, Rediscovering Eastern Leisurely Delight”
At the heart of the urban landscape lies a sanctuary infused with tea culture—a “Peach Blossom Spring” in miniature. Nestled within Nanjing’s profound cultural heritage , this space translates Eastern aesthetics through contemporary design language, creating an immersive tea culture experience where visitors can wander, admire, and dwell. Here, the aroma of tea and leisurely moments blossom organically in daily life, allowing tea culture to be felt in every gesture and understood in the interplay of light and shadow.

02-
Modern brushstrokes, sketching Eastern imagery
间首重“平衡古今、融汇雅俗”。入口以渐变绿色格栅与极简笔触勾勒出小罐茶的现代品牌形象;室内则选用深棕木质、米色墙面与暖色灯光,铺陈沉稳雅致的基调。
“Modern Strokes, Sketching Eastern Imagery”
The space emphasizes balancing tradition and modernity, elegance and accessibility. The entrance features gradient green grids and minimalist strokes to outline the modern brand image. Interior materials—dark brown wood, beige walls, and warm lighting—establish a serene and refined tone.

Standardized tea products coexist harmoniously with handcrafted pottery, abstract artworks, and lush greenery on display shelves, inheriting the legacy of tea ceremony while aligning with contemporary tastes, embodying an inclusive spirit where “refinement meets approachability.”
03-
With each step, the scenery changes, embracing a myriad of situations.

“A Journey of Scenes, Embracing Diverse Moments”
Through meticulous scene-setting and circulation planning, the compact commercial space crafts an immersive dreamscape of tranquility. Beyond the lobby, a winding path of dark slate guides visitors through a transition from urban clamor to quietude, flanked by architectural forms and greenery. Perforated partitions and glass openings create a sense of “the scene changing with every step,” evoking traditional garden aesthetics.

The courtyard at the corridor’s end, window-side seats, and private rooms each form distinct “small worlds,” catering to tea tasting, gatherings, or solitude, seamlessly blending classical garden charm with modern functionality.

04-
Details as the guide, creating a sanctuary for body and mind
“Details as Guides, Crafting a Haven for Body and Mind”
Every detail cultivates a physical and psychological realm to “steal a half-day of leisure from life’s hustle.” Warm amber lighting, ergonomic furniture, corner floral arrangements, and curated greenery collaboratively foster deep relaxation.

The ritual of boiling water, brewing tea, and savoring each sip naturally slows the pace of time, allowing peace to flourish amid the swirling steam.

05-
Nature as inspiration, nurturing inner peace

“Nature as Inspiration, Nurturing Inner Serenity”
The design ultimately guides visitors toward inner stillness. Avoiding clichéd symbols, it relies on material contrasts, layered lighting, and integration of natural elements to cultivate calm from exterior to interior. The cool touch of dark flooring balances the warmth of wood, while courtyard views and plants act as “breathing pores,” infusing rhythmic vitality. This space is a pure land—one need not travel far to find ease and peace within this compact urban retreat.
