Goodluck Hotpot (Sydney)


In Sydney, Australia, Chinatown, a Chinese core area, there is a “Goodluck Hotpot” restaurant. Arriving here, many Hong Kong friends call it as if back home. Sydney is huge, accommodating the souls of diners from all over the world. It is decorated by pure Hong Kong style however, as well as the flavor of the authentic side stove, the system dominated Sydney food circle, and set off a trend restoring ancient ways wind.

Interior Design
Arrived in Chinatown famous landmark “Goodluck Hotpot”, just entered the door as if through time, came to Hong Kong’s street stalls. Walking into the store, you can see dazzling neon signs, retro seats everywhere…



The Neon City That Never Sleeps
Neon lights, seafood stalls, mahjong parlors, Lanfang Yuan… The colorful 360° surround looks like a plunge into the streets of old Hong Kong, immersing people in the city that never sleeps.




Each street is full of Hong Kong flavor: clean and bright fresh meat stalls, large aquatic glass boxes, Hong Kong women’s favorite Lanfang Yuan milk tea… There are Chungking Mansions, mahjong parlors, housing agencies…



Retro and Trendy Street Scene
The whole space is 1:1 restoration of Hong Kong-style street food stalls, giving people the illusion that 1000 square kilometers of Hong Kong are condensed here, and also like a second to the scene of TVB Hong Kong drama.


In the 1980s and 1990s, Hong Kong movies were booming. Hong Kong stars were all brothers in the four seas. For those who grew up watching Movies made in Hong Kong in the 1980s and 1990s, entering the “Goodluck Hotpot” felt like entering their own childhood memories.




The god of wealth’s fashionable painted design, Auspicious and interesting. Open booths and private rooms with various classic Hong Kong trades as the theme, and signs and slogans full of Hong Kong slang culture, create a nostalgic street scene of market culture. Everything follows the most traditional Hong Kong cognition, red and green with classic colors also attract attention.
A Fully Immersive Nostalgic Experience
If the western geometry is the core of its design texture, then the theme style is a return to the traditional Oriental culture. Allusion and implication have always been an important part of Chinese traditional culture, and Hong Kong is the perfect inheritance of this.



The taste of “Goodluck Hotpot” is not coarse, it is taking the city’s unique retro trend temperament, true restoration of Hong Kong street scene. Many people say that this is a true “fully immersive Hong Kong-style stove” experience. The whole space is 1:1 restoration of Hong Kong-style street food stalls. The design team created a fully immersive dining experience with a nostalgic streetscape of urban culture.

Logo & VI Design
Visual Design with Festive Customs

The lion dance is a traditional folk custom in Hong Kong and Guangdong, and it also means good luck. The use of lion dance elements and red and white color contrast in VI design not only carries the pure and strong cultural genes, but also plays a “finishing touch” role in visual effects and brand building.
